Good morning, Santa Rosa.
🏘️ Community
Raymond’s Bakery’s outdoor dining area in West County was damaged when a redwood tree fell just before Christmas on the Cazadero property.
Owner Mark Weiss said no one was hurt and plans to rebuild the site as his new winter project with community efforts and a GoFundMe expected to bring back pizza nights and concerts by April.
🚧 Accidents
On Wednesday after 3 p.m., a fire damaged multiple floors of the 14-story Bethlehem Tower at 801 Tupper St. and displaced eight residents, affecting 21 units.
Fire crews contained the blaze to one unit while an investigation into the cause is underway.
🌲 Environment
Volunteers spent the weekend planting thousands of native trees and shrubs along the restored Colgan Creek in Southwest Santa Rosa, where a polluted channel was transformed into a natural stream with a mile-long paved trail to prevent flooding.
City officials plan to start building a three-acre park by 2027 (the next phase to add green space).
