ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ Charles M. Schulz-Sonoma County Airport set a 2025 record with 780,637 passengers, a 1% rise despite Avelo Airlines’ exit and December fog. Alaska and American grew nearly 17%, and more flights will be added with Southwest service launching in April and Alaska adding daily flights to Ontario in March. KSRO Radio
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Home security cameras in Monte Rio captured a mother mountain lion and her cubs prowling local backyards last week, and wildlife experts say the sighting (a rare positive sign of a healthy lion population) prompts officials to urge residents to secure their pets. KSRO Radio
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Today, the Sonoma County Board of Supervisors approved 1.5 million dollars in grants for ten wildfire resilience projects in Jenner, Cloverdale, and Sonoma Valley (funds from the PG&E settlement will support fuel breaks, tree removal near water tanks, and training programs with Santa Rosa Junior College and the Conservation Corps).
