🎓 Education
Teachers and parents at a Santa Rosa board meeting raised concerns over plans to cut over 100 jobs and $14 million in funding to prevent a state takeover.
They warned the cuts could reduce student support and lead to larger class sizes as pandemic funding ends.
The Sonoma Valley Unified School District board approved the new MacArthur Park Charter School for the 2026-27 school year at the Prestwood Elementary campus (following its scheduled closure this June) as it prepares to open with a focus on STEAM education and a community Makerspace on Aug. 17.
