  • Trustees at Rincon Valley Union School District will meet tonight to decide on 60 staff layoffs to fix an $8.5M budget gap. The move follows the closure of Whited Elementary (after overspending) and prior staff cuts (affecting dozens) to keep the district running.  KSRO Radio

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Sonoma Botanical Garden expands its leadership team with two new appointments as André ten Dam takes over as director of business operations and Dina Howard becomes associate director of people operations — with financial expert Martin Cassell joining the board to boost community outreach.  KSRO Radio

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Sonoma city and fire leaders told City Council that a study found traffic bottlenecks—at Spain and Napa Streets—could block safe evacuations in a wildfire, so officials plan to add high-tech signals and reversible lanes to help residents, especially those who are medically fragile.  KSRO Radio
