  • The Sonoma Valley Unified School District Board of Trustees voted unanimously Monday to cut 39 employee positions for the upcoming school year (including nearly 13 certificated roles) in a move that will impact staffing levels.  KSRO Radio
  • Sonoma Valley Unified School District will cut 39 positions to save over $3 million amid declining enrollment and Prestwood Elementary closing. The board also renamed Altimira Middle School to Sonoma Valley Middle School as staff get a 2% raise and $1,000 bonus following union talks.  KSRO Radio

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Local land managers across Sonoma County have hired sheep and goats for targeted grazing to clear wildfire fuel, and neighborhood cooperatives are sharing the cost. Demand has nearly doubled following catastrophic fires and heavy rains, making this a critical tool for fire prevention.  KSRO Radio
