- ➤ Santa Rosa Junior College community grew uneasy when IT employee Jordan Mead was arrested for allegedly stalking Vice President Kate Jolley and sending threatening emails; he pleaded not guilty on March 27th, was remanded on $1 million bail, and remains banned from campus by a temporary restraining order until June 3rd while his preliminary hearing will be held on May 23rd. - ➤ Gas prices in California are predicted to rise as the refinery in Benicia and another facility in Southern California will soon close; experts say drivers in Northern California might pay up to $8.00 a gallon according to a USC professor. NBC Bay Area

- ➤ On May 8, the California Highway Patrol unveiled a fleet of 100 specially marked 2024 Dodge Durangos to help catch reckless drivers statewide—blending manufacturer paint with distinct markings—and plans to use them as a new tool to improve traffic safety. NBC Bay Area
