EDUCATION NEWS

  • A new national study shows Santa Rosa and other Sonoma County districts, including Petaluma, Cotati-Rohnert Park, and Windsor, still lag behind California benchmarks in math and reading. Local officials blame a 17-month remote learning period and wildfire disruptions while a few smaller districts show gains.  KSRO Radio
  • Sonoma Valley Unified School District set three goals for the upcoming school year to boost literacy, build trust and lessen absenteeism. Superintendent Jason Sutter said new upper-level managers will start July 1 and plans to reach these goals will be shared in August.  KSRO Radio

  • A new Assembly bill may soon require wines carrying an 'American' label to use only 100 percent domestic grapes. Supporters say the measure will help protect local vineyards, while critics warn it may limit consumer choice.  KSRO Radio
