- ➤ Sonoma State University will receive $45 million from California to support new programs and restore academic tracks, faculty jobs and intercollegiate sports after a $24 million budget cut was announced in January. The funding will be spread over the next three years, with $8 million for athletics, but many student-athletes already transferred and some coach contracts expire Monday—raising concerns about the timing.
