  • A street in Sebastopol was renamed Jessica Fonseca Way to honor addiction counselor Jessica Fonseca who was killed by an impaired driver in June 2024 near the Azure Acres Recovery Center where she worked. Last month, the driver was sentenced to more than four years in prison.  KSRO Radio

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Sonoma Valley Fire District expanded its board on July 1, finalizing its merger with the Kenwood Fire Protection District+the merger was proposed in 2024 to create a single, streamlined fire service for the area.  KSRO Radio

REAL ESTATE NEWS

  • The assessed value of Sonoma County real estate reached an all-time high of $127 billion, a 5.44% increase from last year according to the county Clerk-Recorder-Assessor’s Office—property tax revenue supports local schools and city services.  KSRO Radio
