- ➤ Santa Rosa and Petaluma police are searching for 15-year-old Joyce Kristin Albino, who vanished on July 22nd when her father dropped her off at Santa Rosa Junior College Petaluma campus and found her missing after she left class with personal items behind—authorities are following tips from San Rafael, San Francisco and Redwood City. - ➤ Gerald Martin Bloom the Third, a man from Clearlake, was convicted on eight counts of lewd acts with a child under 14 and sentenced to 200 years in prison for molesting two children in Rohnert Park over six years. KSRO Radio

- ➤ The Sonoma County Fair will open Aug 1 at 1350 Bennett Valley Road in Santa Rosa, with rides, games, live music and fun events like Hot Dogs and Cool Cats (including a Flower Show and Wine Country Rodeo). The fair will run until Aug 10 but is closed on Aug 4 (with extended hours on Fridays, Saturdays and the first Sunday). KSRO Radio

- ➤ Cloverdale Mayor Todd Lands has declared his bid for the Sonoma County 4th District supervisor seat in the 2026 election. The contractor and former sheriff’s deputy—currently in his fourth term as mayor and now nonpartisan—will run on issues including healthcare access, improved transportation, and a sustainable water solution for the Potter Valley Project. - ➤ On July 30, 2025, Sonoma philanthropists Joan and Sandy Weill made a $100 million gift that started a $200 million cancer research project between UCSF and Stanford Medicine—using computer tools and cell research—to help find and treat cancer faster. KSRO Radio
- ➤ Sonoma County saw a mild summer surge of COVID-19 cases announced on Tuesday by Sutter Health infectious disease specialist Dr. Gary Green (who reported a 22% positivity rate among outpatient tests and an 8% rate among emergency cases) with most patients treated at outpatient clinics. Green said he does not expect the summer infection total to surpass last year’s. KSRO Radio

- ➤ The Mark West Little League Junior team advanced to the western U.S. regional semifinals in Bend, Oregon after beating Sunnyside 12–2 when the game ended in the sixth inning on Tuesday. The team of kids aged 12 to 14 will next face 4S Ranch of Southern California. KSRO Radio
