- ➤ Santa Rosa City Schools will track student attendance during the first two weeks of the new school year so officials can review ten-day enrollment numbers to plan next steps in handling the district’s money problems. The district faces a financial crisis from fewer students—six schools are scheduled to close in the coming months while 150 staff members were laid off in June to help cover half its $20 million budget gap.
