- ➤ A popular Santa Rosa bistro will close on August 25 after 12 years in business as owner Stephen Hansel said reduced foot traffic and rising food costs led to the decision — he plans to focus on the related winery instead. KSRO Radio
- ➤ A law firm said United and Delta could soon face a federal lawsuit for selling window seats without windows—passengers may have paid extra fees for seats missing the proper view. The firm said it planned to file the suit in the Northern District of California soon and encouraged California customers to join the class action. NBC Bay Area
- ➤ The Dry Creek Rancheria Band of Pomo Indians and Caesars Entertainment broke ground on Caesars Republic Sonoma County—a project that will update River Rock Casino with a 100-room hotel, luxury spa, new restaurants, and an expanded casino floor while the current casino remains open; the new resort is slated to open in summer. CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Santa Rosa police shot and killed an armed suspect after an hours-long standoff at a home on Keegan Drive early Thursday morning — authorities said residents had sheltered in place while the Sonoma County Sheriff's Office began investigating the shooting. NBC Bay Area

- ➤ The Santa Rosa City School Board welcomed longtime parent volunteer Donna Prak after she was sworn in yesterday to replace board member Stephanie Manieri, who resigned in April due to prolonged stress. KSRO Radio
REAL ESTATE NEWS
- ➤ Construction is underway on a housing development in northwest Santa Rosa that will bring nearly 800 new homes to the area. Crews began work this week on the project at the former dairy farm (off Guerneville Road and Lance Drive) and officials say the first apartments could be available for rent by mid-2027. KSRO Radio
