ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ A woman was hit by a car while walking her dog near Northwest Community Park on West Steele Lane on Thursday evening and was taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries—her dog was taken to a vet while the driver stayed at the scene as police investigate who had the right-of-way without alcohol or speed being factors. CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Creative Sonoma has opened applications for its Arts Impact Grants for Organizations program which will give 45 nonprofit arts and culture groups a $4,000 grant to support their work next year — the program welcomes museums and cultural groups — and aims to boost local art. KSRO Radio
ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ A new Atlas Hospitality Group report shows hotel sales are down statewide and in the North Bay. In the North Bay, three hotels sold in the first six months of 2025 compared to 13 in 2024 — two in Sonoma and one in Lake County — with statewide sales falling by 7.5% and the median room price dropping by 2.5%. - ➤ Local high school students joined a new CNA training program this summer—funded by a state grant and run in partnership with local schools and healthcare providers—to gain hands-on skills, qualify for state certification, and receive a $1,000 stipend from Sutter Health. KSRO Radio

- ➤ Six Sonoma County fire agencies are searching for new health insurance coverage for employees and retirees after Fire Risk Management Services decided in June not to renew its plan for 2026—citing higher-than-expected premiums.
