A woman was hit by a car while walking her dog near Northwest Community Park on West Steele Lane on Thursday evening and was taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries—her dog was taken to a vet while the driver stayed at the scene as police investigate who had the right-of-way without alcohol or speed being factors.
