ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ A house fire in Sonoma at about 5:45 Sunday morning led to a local woman being taken to hospital for smoke inhalation—she and her dog had already evacuated before firefighters arrived and it took 45 minutes to put out the blaze. KSRO Radio
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Santa Rosa man 71-year-old Khanh Trong Tran was arrested Saturday on suspicion of killing his 94-year-old father-in-law, Sy Van Nguyen—detectives had initially found no evidence of foul play when the senior was unresponsive on the property they shared. KSRO Radio
- ➤ A Santa Rosa man fired a gun into the air then barricaded himself inside a downtown home late Friday—police reported no injuries and temporary street closures led residents to shelter in place while it remains unclear if he was arrested. KSRO Radio
ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ Unemployment in the North Bay rose for the second month as all six counties saw higher rates in July than in June—Sonoma County jumped from 4.7 to 4.9 percent, Lake County reached 7.6 percent, and Napa County held the lowest at 4.4 percent. KSRO Radio
- ➤ Today, the average price of a gallon of regular gas in Sonoma County is $4.74, the same as on July 18 and two cents lower than a week ago—Mendocino County leads the North Bay with a price of $4.82 while the state average is $4.50. KSRO Radio

- ➤ This morning Sonoma County filed a lawsuit against Meta, TikTok, and Google claiming their platforms foster addictive behaviors that harm local youth mental health—county officials say the trial may begin in 2026 and the lawsuit helps redirect resources to mental health services. KSRO Radio
