🚨 Crime
A two-car crash yesterday in Santa Rosa led police to arrest 39-year-old Miguel Angel Martinez at Corby and Bellevue Avenues for a DUI on suspicion of drug use, as he was on probation with an outstanding warrant and the other vehicle’s occupants suffered minor injuries while Corby Avenue remained closed for several hours.
🏛️ Government
A federal judge set aside the Biden administration's decision to take land into trust for the Koi Nation, delaying a new casino project—the Shiloh Resort project—just outside Windsor.
The ruling sided with the Federated Indians of Graton Rancheria, who said they were not asked about the project, and the Koi Nation said it will appeal the decision.
Sonoma-Marin Area Rail Transit employee Samuel Castillo sued the agency on September 5 after he was fired for seeking help with PTSD from train fatalities and violent incidents—he alleges unsafe conditions, retaliation and denial of benefits, and a case management conference is set for January 22 in Sonoma County Superior Court.
