- ➤ Today, the Sonoma County Board of Supervisors will consider a 2.4% ambulance rate increase for Sonoma County Fire District—this rate is much lower than the 24% that was requested earlier due to rising labor costs and insurance changes. District Chief Ron Busch said another rate hike is planned after the district took over a $30 million ambulance contract 18 months ago that expanded service from Windsor and northern Santa Rosa to agencies along the Russian River and coast.
