- ➤ The San Francisco DEA branch warned the Bay Area that it seized 5,000 counterfeit pills containing carfentanil — a very dangerous drug that is 100 times more deadly than fentanyl and may not respond well to naloxone. NBC Bay Area
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The new southbound lane opened Sept 24 and the northbound lane opened Sept 29 at the Novato Narrows, easing congestion along Highway 101 while final work on paving, striping and signage continues—which may lead to overnight closures. Caltrans extended HOV hours to 5 to 10 a.m. and 3 to 7 p.m., aligning North Bay with other Bay Area counties but increasing traffic through Santa Rosa. KSRO Radio
