- ➤ The Made in Santa Rosa Education Foundation raised $86,000 at its fourth annual fall luncheon to fund two literacy projects for Santa Rosa City Schools District for the 2025-2026 school year—supporting the ELITE after-school reading program and the Book Vending Machine Program. The event honored emeritus board member Dr. Diann Kitamura and drew 125 local attendees. KSRO Radio
- ➤ The Santa Rosa City Schools board will review a proposal tonight to close Rincon Valley Middle School. The plan will move roughly 780 students to Maria Carrillo High School by fall 2027 — two years early to save up to two-million dollars amid warnings that up to 15-million dollars in cuts may be needed to avoid a state takeover. - ➤ The Sonoma County Registrar of Voters launched ElectionStats on October 8 — a searchable database that compiles election results from 2009 through 2024 — according to Registrar Evelyn Mendez. KSRO Radio

- ➤ Professional sports teams are partnering with wine makers to offer fans a fresh taste of game-day experiences. The San Francisco Giants started the Giants Wine Club with Sonoma County Winegrowers — and the Golden State Valkyries inked deals with La Crema and J Vineyards — to add a new flavor to their events.
