- ➤ The Jesus Cares 2020 Ministries Community Kitchen on Wilson Street reopened on October 1 after closing last year when the Society of St. Vincent de Paul sold the Railroad Square location. The kitchen will lease the building through December 2026. KSRO Radio
ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ PG&E mailed flyers about a proposal to raise rates starting in 2027 — its plan calls for small yearly increases so that residential bills will be roughly $408 higher by 2030 and will bring in $4.4 billion to upgrade its system by burying power lines in fire-prone areas. The CPUC will hold webcasts Wednesday and Thursday for customers to share their opinions. NBC Bay Area
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Bay Area planners released a draft plan on Monday that sets a 25-year roadmap for cutting per-person emissions 21% by 2035, lowering housing and transit costs, and expanding transit access—more than 17,000 residents contributed their feedback through surveys and public meetings. The plan is open for public comment until Dec. 18 and will include webinars starting Oct. 29—public hearings are scheduled in San Francisco, Fremont and Novato before a final decision in early 2026. - ➤ FEMA has opened a 90-day window for public review of updated flood risk maps that determine flood insurance needs. Permit Sonoma will host a hybrid meeting (in Santa Rosa or via Zoom) from 6 to 8 p.m. this Thursday, November 13th to explain the maps and guide the appeal process. KSRO Radio
