EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Standardized test scores for Sonoma Valley Unified School District show that student proficiency dropped in all subjects during the 2024-25 school year, with science falling sharply to 18.2% (its lowest rate). The district will roll out new interventions to boost literacy skills at the elementary level. KSRO Radio
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Two Bay Area men lead free mental health support groups for Asian American men facing cultural stigma and loneliness—helping many share their struggles and find a sense of belonging. They will hold workshops starting tomorrow—Oct. 25—and another event the following weekend to continue building community connections. NBC Bay Area
- ➤ Providence announced the closure of the inpatient pediatric unit at Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital, reducing overnight care options for children and leaving Sonoma County without another designated pediatric unit (the unit had eight licensed beds). Hospital staff and county health officials were informed Wednesday morning (Providence said the decision came after careful review). KSRO Radio
