HEALTH NEWS

  • California’s first confirmed bird flu outbreak of the winter season was detected at Reichardt Duck Farm between Petaluma and Two Rock. Farm owner Phil Reichardt said staff began euthanizing all 57,000 birds after a rise in deaths last week — new birds will be reintroduced after a four-month wait.  KSRO Radio
  • Senate President Mike McGuire announced Wednesday night that the state provided the final $3.5 million needed to break ground on the new 40,000-square-foot Alexander Valley Healthcare facility in Cloverdale, which will replace outdated offices and end the local healthcare desert—about $3 million still is needed to finish the project. The facility will offer expanded medical, dental, and behavioral health services and double its patient capacity.  KSRO Radio
