- ➤ Fieldwork Brewing Company has opened its first Sonoma County taproom in Montgomery Village — the renovated former Cattleman’s restaurant that took nearly a year to update. The Santa Rosa location is the brewery’s ninth and two more taprooms will open in San Francisco next month. KSRO Radio
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Sonoma County was part of a settlement with three pest control companies—Clark Pest Control, Crane Pest Control and Orkin Services of California—for violations of state pesticide, hazardous waste and customer privacy laws. The companies agreed to pay $3 million in penalties and to adopt stricter measures including employee training, annual dumpster audits and two-thousand hours per year of waste management oversight. - ➤ Chris Geiger witnessed an ambulance speed past Center Point DAAC this morning and saw EMTs treating a man for a fentanyl overdose nearby; the recovery center will expand its mobile unit—using free Narcan and medication-assisted treatment—with part of a $5 million opioid settlement to help rural residents. - ➤ A new report from the Sonoma Valley Catalyst Fund shows the region’s aging population is stressing local health care, housing, transportation, and social support systems, with one in three residents projected to be a senior by 2030 and a 44% increase expected among those aged 75 and older. Many seniors face challenges with disability, isolation, and poverty — the Catalyst Fund will host a free online webinar on December 3 from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m. to discuss its findings and recommendations.
