The Santa Rosa Police Department will ramp up patrols to catch impaired drivers as part of the Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over campaign from Dec.

12 through New Year's Day — the effort aims to help drivers plan ahead and get home safely during the holiday season.

Credit and debit cards can now be used on SMART, Petaluma Transit, SF Bay Ferry & Golden Gate Transit via the Tap & Ride system starting this week; transit officials say the new option is expected to boost North Bay ridership.
