- ➤ The Santa Rosa Police Department will ramp up patrols to catch impaired drivers as part of the Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over campaign from Dec. 12 through New Year's Day — the effort aims to help drivers plan ahead and get home safely during the holiday season. KSRO Radio
- ➤ Credit and debit cards can now be used on SMART, Petaluma Transit, SF Bay Ferry & Golden Gate Transit via the Tap & Ride system starting this week; transit officials say the new option is expected to boost North Bay ridership. KSRO Radio
- ➤ The Sonoma County Board of Supervisors will host a workshop at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 16 at the Board Chambers to review athletic field options, including artificial turf versus natural grass and Ag + Open Space grant criteria. HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ A Sonoma County advisory panel criticized Providence for closing the inpatient pediatric ward at Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital, warning low-income families may struggle to access care. The panel urged county supervisors to intervene as pediatricians estimated about 300 children will need transfers annually. KSRO Radio
REAL ESTATE NEWS
- ➤ Esmeralda Land Company plans a resort project with over 600 homes and two hotels in Cloverdale, which could use an estimated 76 million gallons of water annually and worsen supply issues during droughts. The developer will address the City Council today (Dec. 11) to answer community concerns. KSRO Radio
