EDUCATION NEWS

  • On Wednesday, Dec. 10, Santa Rosa City Schools filed a negative certification with the state to signal a growing deficit that requires nearly $3 million in savings this year and about $23 million next year after already closing six campuses and cutting 150 staff.  KSRO Radio
  • The Sonoma Valley Unified School District Board has picked six candidates to interview for the permanent superintendent role on Jan. 10-11 and will choose a finalist soon after. Acting superintendent Rena Seifts will remain until a new leader begins in February.  KSRO Radio

HEALTH NEWS

  • First Responders Resiliency Inc. plans to build a self-care center on an 18-acre parcel near Cotati (former Washoe Creek Golf Course) to serve first responders and their families. The center will be built in the coming months to help relieve work-related stress.  KSRO Radio
