🎓 Education
On Wednesday, Dec. 10, Santa Rosa City Schools filed a negative certification with the state to signal a growing deficit that requires nearly $3 million in savings this year and about $23 million next year after already closing six campuses and cutting 150 staff.
The Sonoma Valley Unified School District Board has picked six candidates to interview for the permanent superintendent role on Jan.
10-11 and will choose a finalist soon after. Acting superintendent Rena Seifts will remain until a new leader begins in February.
🏥 Health
First Responders Resiliency Inc. plans to build a self-care center on an 18-acre parcel near Cotati (former Washoe Creek Golf Course) to serve first responders and their families.
The center will be built in the coming months to help relieve work-related stress.
