- ➤ Laura Chenel, a Sonoma-based cheesemaker, ended its partnership with an Oregon dairy after PETA released evidence alleging severe neglect at Grand Barr Dairy, citing withheld veterinary care and unsanitary conditions. ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ LandPaths acquired 69-acre Calvi Ranch near Occidental to protect redwoods, coastal prairies, and habitats for black bears and steelhead trout. The nonprofit will work with local Tribes and neighbors to develop a plan and eventually offer school field trips while planning continues over several years. KSRO Radio

- ➤ Sonoma County Board of Supervisors approved a letter of intent with the United Soccer League to study a multi-purpose stadium at the County Fairgrounds — a nine-month evaluation will include public meetings in early 2026 and reserve $30,000 for legal reviews and outreach while fair operations stay unaffected. - ➤ Local residents oppose the 162-unit Creekside Village housing project next to the historic Carrillo Adobe. Swenson Builders (buyers of the 14.8-acre property for $5.1 million) said they will seek further public input during environmental, design, and Planning Commission reviews set for 2026. KSRO Radio
