- ➤ On Dec. 10, local knitters from Nut Tree Knitters and Needle Natters plus customers from shop Noma Knits donated 357 handmade scarves, hats and baby items to Secret Santa, a nonprofit that has served Sonoma for over 30 years. The donation continues a cherished tradition of winter generosity in the community. KSRO Radio
- ➤ During Wednesday’s winter storm, Sebastopol police safely contained a loose horse near Bodega Avenue and Pleasant Hill Road (North Bay Animal Services later transported it after the owner was located). KSRO Radio
- ➤ Storm winds over 92 mph caused widespread power outages that disrupted holiday celebrations in parts of the Bay Area, including Santa Cruz, Monterey, San Mateo + Sonoma. The Spitzig family in San Bruno lost power for two days and still awaits restoration. NBC Bay Area

- ➤ Sonoma Valley Unified School District’s reserves are expected to rise from under 3% to over 23% by 2028 after consolidating schools and reducing staff — though officials caution that future costs like staff raises and charter petition fees remain uncounted. KSRO Radio
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Strong winds and heavy rain on Christmas Eve and day left thousands without power in the North Bay & caused downed trees and flooded roads, affecting nearly 10,000 PG&E customers as a flood watch remained in effect through 10 p.m. tonight. KSRO Radio
REAL ESTATE NEWS
- ➤ In the LeFever Mattson bankruptcy case, a judge has issued a subpoena for Kathleen Hamlin—a litigation target alleged to have received over $2.4 million, including $1.6 million last year, from company funds; she must produce documents by Jan. 9. KSRO Radio
- ➤ Irvine-based City Ventures has proposed a 260-unit townhome community called New Mill Creek on 20 acres south of Windsor River Road near the SMART tracks; officials will review the plan while a previous permit for a stalled project remains active through June. KSRO Radio
